Nomad Outdoors is a logo I created to help practice brainstorming, Nomad Outdoors is a logo I created to help practice brainstorming, conceptualizing, and creating a logo for a business. Here’s a walkthrough of the process I used to bring the logo from idea to reality.
Brainstorm

The process starts with brainstorming the name of the business. I already had the name in mind, now I just had to figure out the rest. I wrote down a description of the company, as well as their target demographic. I also grabbed logos from various other outdoor supply companies to see what common design themes were.
Skecthing

Next was sketching out various iterations of the logo to help narrow down the look and feel of the final logo. The sketches above are just a few of many that I created. Eventually, I settled on the idea of a circular logo, with mountains and water to convey that this was a business that sold gear for many different kinds of outdoorsy people.
Creating and feedback

This was the original version of the logo that was created in Adobe Illustrator. As you can see, it was a little difference than the final version. I showed the logo to a few people and asked for their opinions and critiques. This helped to find what was working for the logo and what wasn’t. Once I had a list of what to fix, I got to work on the final version.
Final Design

Once I went through the critique list and made the needed changes, I reached a version that I felt was completed.
Mockups

Now that the logo is finished, we can see how it looks in different situations such as on a page, seen above.
